The theme for May’s PetGiftBox is “Basic Training”. PetGiftBox offers both cat and dog subscription boxes. Obviously, for this review, we are reviewing the dog box for petite dogs (up to 20 lbs).
The toys in the May PetGiftBox are:
- New Recruit Crinkle Toy – (retail value $7.99) This deer/dog/not really sure what to call this guy is super long and way to big for Bruce Wayne, but the legs are thin and are made of the crinkle material, which Bruce Wayne loves so much. He’s played with the legs and arms a few times, but that’s about it. If your pup likes to drag big toys around like our friend @therealpablochihuahua, they will absolutely love this toy!
- Camo Rope Toy – (retail value $4.99) Again, sadly, this toy is too big for Bruce Wayne’s tiny Chi-Chi mounth. He tried to carry it around (see video below), but gave up pretty quickly, lol. However, his crazy Uncle Patches (a JRT) has adopted it and absolutely loves it! It’s perfect for fetch with Uncle Patches and is quite durable for strong chewers.
The treats in the May PetGiftBox are:
- Troop Treats – (retail value $8.99 for 6 oz.) I love the packaging! Some may think it’s pretty bland or boring, but if you’ve ever seen a MRE (meal ready to eat) that soldiers eat, then you’ll get it. It looks so much like an MRE which fits with the theme perfectly! Since these treats contain wheat, we will be passing them on to Uncle Patches.
The extras/accessories in the May PetGiftBox are:
- Military Fatigue Bandana – (retail value $5.99) This bandana is the perfect size for Bruce Wayne and I love it. I will definitely be keeping it around in Bruce Wayne’s drawer for future posts.
Loving Pets Gobble Stopper – (average retail value $5.00) These slow feeders seem to be all the rage these days, as they help dogs slow down their eating time so that they don’t inhale their food too quickly, which can cause intestinal problems. Since Bruce Wayne only eats about .08 oz. per meal and he can be scared of his own shadow while eating, I think this would actually distract him from eating. However, if your dog eats too fast, this would be the perfect solution for them as it claims to slow down feeding by 5x.
Estimated Retail Value of May’s PetGiftBox: $32.96
Overall Opinion: While much of this box is too big for Bruce Wayne, we loved the theme and the items included. You can never go wrong with a military theme to show gratitude to all the soldiers and families that sacrifice so much for us. The items that we shared with Bruce Wayne’s Uncle Patches were a hit, especially the camo rope toy that I think most dogs would absolutely love!
B-DUBS Verdict: Bruce Wayne gives is 2 out of 4 grinchy paws! (Sharing is caring and since he loves his Uncle Patches, he was happy to share this box with him.)

*The Fine Print* – PetGiftBox sends toys and treats based on your dog’s size at the time you sign up for a subscription or single box. Even if you have the same size dog as me, you may have received different products (same theme though) than Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is an affiliate for PetGiftBox, however, these are solely my honest opinions of this month’s box based on Bruce Wayne’s size and preference.
The video below is Bruce Wayne’s “first impression” of the camo rope toy. I really thought it was going to play with it once he picked it up, lol, but in true Bruce Wayne fashion, he decided to be lazy instead.
