In case you may be wondering why the low Instagram presence this upcoming week (5/17/17 – 5/22/17), we are headed down south to Myrtle Beach, SC to attend the 2017 BlogPaws Conference! No, you do not have to send the Saturday Night Live team out to look for us. We aren’t missing, we are just sipping wine and getting our knowledge on down south. 😉
What in the Heck is BlogPaws?
BlogPaws is a community-based group of pet parents and lovers just like you and I. Some of them blog, some of them post on social media and some of them are activists within their own communities. What brings us all together is our common bond and love for animals of all walks of life.
BlogPaws is led by a team of individuals that are dedicated to grow pet parent bloggers and social media enthusiasts through education and support. Unlike many platforms, BlogPaws offers many free tips and seminars within their own website to help both young and advanced bloggers succeed in this ever growing pet industry.
BlogPaws is also at the forefront for helping influencers gain paid campaigns. This is so critical! I think of BlogPaws as our union for pet parents. Personally, I’ve had many companies (large companies) ask us to do posts in exchange (no compensation) for product over the last year. I’ve had to turn many away, as there is no way I would be able to keep up with all the posts and honestly, I’ve learned that Bruce Wayne and I are more valuable than just receiving a brush in return for our hard work. BlogPaws is always encouraging pet parents to know their worth and believe that we, as pet parents, should be paid for our posts, such as brands would pay a Kim Kardashian. Just because you are doing paid posts, does not mean you are “selling out” or anything of that nature. We only participate in campaigns with products that we would truly use. What many do not realize is that all the funds we receive from any paid posts goes right back into paying for Bruce Wayne’s vet bills, food and pee pads. I know some people use it to help pay for their rent, groceries, etc. No matter what you use it for, you should be paid for your time and hard work and BlogPaws is there to help you get started!
If you are not a member of the BlogPaws community, I highly encourage you to join. In the least, I would encourage you to poke around their website for their amazing tips and tools that they offer.
What This Conference Means to us.
Yes, this is our first year attending the BlogPaws Conference. I’ve been wanting to attend for 2 years now, however, due to the location and costs at the time, I was unable to attend. Thankfully, this year, Bruce Wayne won us a free blogger pass to the Conference, as well as a free hotel stay during the Conference from BlogPaws directly. Without this win, we probably would not have been able to attend this year either, so I certainly plan to make the most out of the trip by attending as many seminars and networking as much as possible. (Maybe if I didn’t do as many products for posts the last few years, I could have attended sooner, lol, lesson learned!)
What’s at Stake.
We were actually nominated and named a finalist for a BlogPaws Award! 🙂 Yup, thanks to some close friends for nominating us, the BlogPaws team named our Instagram account @ipartywithbrucewayne as a finalist for the “Best Pet Micro Influencer”! We were so ecstatic to see that we were named a finalist. I was literally sitting at the kitchen table refreshing the page on the day of the announcements to see if we were named a finalist. Literally! I know that many people always say “it’s an honor just to be nominated”, but in our case, it truly is! I “work” really hard on maintaining, engaging and being creative with our Instagram page. I’ve met so many wonderful like-minded friends that I would have never met otherwise, so I hold Instagram near and dear to us. Now, with that being said, we are up against some serious stiff competition. One, of which, is good friends of ours, the notorious @pupsonpar. Sarah, Lucy and Emily were among our first friends on Instagram and we would be as happy for them to win, as they’ve always been so kind to us. Who knows what may happen, but we are keeping Bruce Wayne’s grinchy paws crossed!
Our Final Word.
We want to thank you all! We thank you for being so supportive and kind through our social media journey. We thank you for allowing us to be wacky, silly and goofy at times. We thank you for embracing a long haired, big eared Chi-Chi into your lives. We’ve become close with so many of you, been able to meet some of you face to face and look forward to meeting many more of you over the years to come.
Be on the lookout for some fun giveaways once we return. We hear there’s a lot of swag coming our way and we will want to share some of the fun with you. Take a look at the BlogPaws Sponsors and let us know in the comments below who you would like to meet and chat with. We will be sure to let them know to check our your social media and/or blog page and may just send you a post-BlogPaws surprise! 🙂 (Please don’t forget to leave your email address or IG address so we can contact you.)
Thank you again for all the support! Be sure to keep an eye on our Instagram stories and Snapchat (@ipartywithbw) for all the BlogPaws Conference fun. You never know who we will run into! 🙂
