The theme for the July BarkBox is “A Lick In Wonderland”. As you may be able to tell this is BarkBox’s take on Alice in Wonderland. I love this theme and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Bruce Wayne’s box.
The toys in the July box are:
- Squeakle Dee Squeakle Dum – (retail value $10.00) This is literally the definition of 2 toys in 1. One side is the blue twin, while the other side is the red twin. The toy itself is about 5-6 inches tall and houses a sequaker at the bottom of the toy. Also at the bottom of the toy is a spiky ball. If you have a dog that loves to rip open his toys, he will find stuffing and this fun ball to make for an extra toy.
- Squeak Me Sweet Treat – (retail value $8.00) This is an adorable cupcake toy that is soft and houses a squeaker in the middle of the toy. While it will make for a fun prop, it is too thick for Bruce Wayne to get his little Chi-Chi jaw around.
- My Doggy Soft-Baked Training Treats – (retail value $7.00 for 4 oz.) The flavor we received is beef and potato. These are a great sized treats for small to medium dogs and would make for great training treats for large breed dogs. While they are described as a soft-baked treat, they feel more like a soft crunchy treat through the bag.
Ingredients: Rye flour, Molasses, Beef, Potato, Palm oil, eggs, parsley
- Lola’s Lamb Jerky (retail value – $6.00 for 4 oz.) These are described as a soft and chewy jerky. While they are way too big if left as is for Bruce Wayne, they are soft enough that you can easily break the strips into smaller pieces.
Ingredients: Lamb meal, Buckwheat flour, Gelatin, Buckwheat Groats, Flax, Vegetable Glycerin, Potato Starch, Citric Acid (preservative)
Etta Says! Rabbit Chew – (retail value $3.00 for 1 stick) This is a 6 inch chew. It is a great thickness and length for a small dog, however, your dog probably shouldn’t eat this in one sitting. Bruce Wayne loves these style chews, however, since it does contain rawhide, we will have to pass on this one.
Ingredients: Rawhide, Rabbit, Caramel coloring, salt
Estimated Value of the July BarkBox – $34.00
Overall Opinion: I loved the theme of the box. It is fun and whimsical. I was a bit disappointed with the treats, but I know that I’m an overprotective dog Mom. The toys were fun and are a good size for a small to medium dog. Bruce Wayne doesn’t really play much with plush toys, but they will make for fun photoshoot props.
B-DUBS VERDICT: Bruce Wayne gives the July BarkBox 2 out of 4 grinchy paws.

*The Fine Print* – BarkBox sends toys and treats based on your dog’s size at the time you sign up for a subscription or single box and even if you have the same size dog as me, you may have received different products (same theme though) than Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is an affiliate for BarkBox and receives a free box, however, these are solely my honest opinions of this month’s box based on Bruce Wayne’s size and preference.
