Oh my goodness! Let me tell you about the amazing time we had at New York Comic Con! I must admit, this was our first experience at Comic Con. Our very first! We hadn’t even attended a Comic Con in our hometown of Baltimore yet. Go big or go home, right?!
In full disclosure, New York Comic Con, “NYCC”, sent us comped tickets to attend the show. A few months back, I had reached out to NYCC and asked for a press badge. Yeah, I know, I am not a legit media press member, but I was hoping to use our engaging social media account, @iparywithbrucewayne, to our benefit. Hey, a girl’s gotta try! 😉 NYCC, as guessed, responded that press badges were extremely limited, but they would send us a new badge they started, the “Sidekick” badge. This badge would allow us access to all 4 days (Thursday – Sunday) of Comic Con! OMG! I was ecstatic! Of course, my first thought, was that I needed to contact The Foo Foo Fido to make Bruce Wayne a Batman cosplay outfit that would stand out among the rest! 😉 As you can see below, she did not fail! I know I’m biased, but isn’t Bruce Wayne stinking adorable?!

The Good ….
Overall, we had an absolute blast at Comic Con! The staff and volunteers were extremely professional and helpful. There were literally volunteers everywhere in case you needed help. If you had any questions, you did not have to walk far to find help.
There were also a ton of panels to suit everyone’s interest. From television shows like “The Walking Dead” and “The Exorcist” to movie panels featuring stars such as Keanu Reeves to discuss his 2018 movie “Replicas” , there was something to fit every genre.

And the costumes! I wish I would have taken more photos of all the amazing cosplay that people were wearing, but honestly, I was caught up in the moment and tried to soak it all in. Next year, I’ll be sure to capture more costumes, but in the meantime, below are a few from the NYCC Instagram for your viewing pleasure.
Vendors galore! There is literally a convention room just of vendors. I guarantee you will find anything you are looking for in the vendor hall. There was everything from fine art to t-shirts.
The Bad ….
Marvel cancelled The Punisher panel. 🙁 I could probably not say any more and fans would understand how upset we were that this panel was cancelled. Marvel’s reasoning for cancelling it was due to the recent Las Vegas shootings. I don’t want to get into the optics of this, as this is not the time or place, but Frank Castle shoots people. Good or bad, that’s his character.
Crowded! Crowded! Crowded! I could talk about how crowded it was, but that is to be expected with any convention. And with the popularity of comics and superheroes these days, it should be no surprise. But, still nonetheless, if you go to Comic Con next year, be prepared to stand in long lines everywhere!
All in all, we enjoyed NYCC and hope to be invited back again next year! If you are a fan of superheroes, comics, television shows or movies, I would highly recommend you attend. If you can’t attend all 4 days, the biggest day is always Saturday. If you would like to attend on a slower, less busy day, I would suggest attending Thursday. Have you ever attended a Comic Con? Thought about attending? Let us know your experience and any tips you have for us for next year’s NYCC.
Uhmmm, more photos of Bruce in his costume please. 😆
LOL, thank you kindly, Aimee! It was so incredibly crowded, I wasn’t able to take nearly as many photos as I wanted. BW is still getting used to crowds. Thank you for checking out our post! xoxo
I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme.
Did you make this website yourself or did you hire someone to
do it for you? Plz answer back as I’m looking to construct my own blog and would like to find out where u got this from.
thank you
Thank you kindly! Building this site was a labor of love. I actually hired a really great lady to help design my blog. You can contact her through her site, http://www.virtualbren.com. She was so helpful and certainly had reasonable rates.
Good luck!
