As many of you already know, a few months back I decided to preserve Bruce Wayne’s fluffy DNA. This is always something I’ve been very passionate about. I’ve always said that if I were to have another dog in my life, he’d have to be just like Bruce Wayne. I know that cloning might not be ideal for all, but for me, I wholeheartedly knew that I wanted to do this.
Even before I knew ViaGen Pets existed, I had many discussions with Bruce Wayne’s Veterinarian, Dr. Zulty, about how I wanted to one day clone Bruce Wayne. One might think my Veterinarian would think I was crazy, however, Dr. Zulty is very intrigued by science, actually already knew a lot about the process and was very supportive of my desire.
While I was at the BlogPaws conference earlier this year in Myrtle Beach, I met Lauren and Melain of ViaGen Pets. I cannot put into words the feeling that came over me when I learned about their genetic preservation process and cloning that is being performed within the United States. I literally got goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Again, it is a feeling that I just can’t put into words. I had such a rush of happy emotions. I literally kept swinging by their booth to tell them how excited I was that I was able to meet them.
Ultimately, my goal is to shed light on this subject so that you, as a pet owner, can decide if this is something you would like to do as well. I only wish I would have known about ViaGen Pets and their technology earlier. A few years ago, I lost a Chihuahua, Loki, previously to having Bruce Wayne in my life. My wanting to share my journey is in hopes that my fellow pet parent friends never have to have the same regret that I had.
I’m Cloning Bruce Wayne!!
Since our Veterinarian was able to successfully biopsy Bruce Wayne’s DNA tissue, I was able to relax knowing that Bruce Wayne’s cells were being safely stored by the ViaGen Pets team. This allowed me to take the time I needed to thoroughly decide if and when I was ready to clone Bruce Wayne.
After many discussions with Bruce Wayne’s Veterinarian, some friends and family, I decided that I was ready to move forward with cloning Bruce Wayne. Was I nervous? Most certainly, but deep down I knew that this is what I truly wanted to do.
With that being said, I made the call to ViaGen Pets to proceed with the cloning process. I cannot stress how easy ViaGen makes this process for pet owners. After filling out a form and answering some basic questions, ViaGen Pets informed me that they would begin the cloning process.
What Happens Next?
Currently, ViaGen Pets does have a waiting list for cloning. I do not want to say how long the list currently is, as it is continuously fluctuating. Depending on when you decide to clone, your wait time may differ.
After speaking with your ViaGen Pets representative, they will begin the cloning process and keep you informed every step of the way. I can honestly say that ViaGen Pets has the best customer service, paws down! 😉 This is when the fun really starts, as this confirms that you will soon have a cloned puppy or kitty of your pet! Your pets DNA cells will be sent to a bio-secure ViaGen lab that will implant the cells into a surrogate dog or cat. The surrogate will be around the same size as your dog, but not necessarily the same breed. However, rest assured that the surrogate’s DNA will not be transferred into the puppy(s) or kitten(s).
This time is both exciting and nervous. Obviously, there is a chance that the pregnancy may not take the first time. In these instances, ViaGen Pets will transfer additional embryos for no additional fee. However, with ViaGen Pets high success rate, I am not worried, just excited!
Currently, ViaGen Pets has transferred Bruce Wayne’s embryos and we invite you to stay tuned as we share some exciting news with you soon. I know that for most, this technology is something that most have not heard about yet. I am delighted to share my experience with you, so that you can see first hand how the entire process goes.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I am always happy to help and explain the process as best as I can. Stay tuned for our next update …. You won’t want to miss it! 🙂
