It’s so hard to believe the ViaGen Pets puppies, aka “The Others”, are now 6 months old! We have gotten into such a great routine that’s it’s hard to believe that they are only 6 months old. I mean, a human baby, can barely function at 6 months old, more less do all the things that The Others have picked up on already. 😉
If you live in Baltimore, you know how non-progressive we are when it comes to dog-friendly places to visit or things to do. And, being that I celebrate Bruce Wayne’s birthday and half birthday each year, I’m running out of new ways to celebrate a dog’s birthday. However, thanks to the wonderful world of Instagram, I discovered Watermark Cruises through the Visit Bmore Instagram account.
On Wednesday, April 26, we headed to Baltimore’s infamous Inner Harbor. If you’ve never been and happen to be driving through Maryland, I highly recommend taking a few hours to visit. Before we headed to the boat, I put The Others on their leashes and let them get in some exercise and burn some energy. Of course, while walking the Inner Harbor, we were constantly stopped and asked about the puppies. It’s not everyday you see 4 adorable puppies. Not to mention, 4 adorable cloned puppies! 🙂
After our short walk, we boarded the boat. Unfortunately, the steps were too steep for us to take the stroller and puppies onto the top deck, however, we do hope to go back once The Others have had proper training and can sit quietly like Bruce Wayne for the 45 minute boat ride. So with that, we stayed below and enjoyed the ride. For an additional fee, I booked the “celebration package”, which included champagne, a group photo and an announcement, over the loudspeaker, made by the Captain about your birthday, anniversary, etc. Yes, it sounds crazy, but I had the Captain wish The Others a Happy 6 Month Birthday by name. The Watermark staff were such great sports about it and happily obliged with my crazy dog lady ways.
After our boat ride around the Baltimore area, we docked and attempted to take some pictures of The Others with Bruce Wayne on the Baltimore pier. As you can see from our photos below, it didn’t really turned out as planned. I actually forgot to bring their treats and there were way to many smells and distractions to get everyone to stay still. But, we certainly had a fun time trying.
We finished our Inner Harbor day with a lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and sat on their outdoor patio overlooking the harbor. It truly is a spectacular view. We had decided to eat here since we’ve ate on their patio plenty of other times with Bruce Wayne and to my knowledge, was dog-friendly. Midway through our lunch, we were interrupted by the Manager who advised that he had received a “complaint” about the dogs being on the outdoor patio and that dogs were not actually allowed on the patio, but they had tried to let us slide. I was actually more frustrated with the restaurant than the people that “complained”. We would have had no problem going somewhere else if they would have just told us up front that the dogs weren’t allowed. Instead, in the middle of our meal, we were moved and Bruce Wayne’s salmon that I ordered him was brought out in a to-go box with our check. Again, just be upfront with dog owners. We are used to being turned away, but rather be turned away then have you take our money and kick us out. Even though I was angry and frustrated, I let it go, not to ruin The Others special day.
Before we headed home, we took another shot at taking some photos near the water. Obviously, since we were so close to the water, the leashes stayed on. Again, I failed at getting everyone to stay and look at the camera, but I did capture Peter Parker’s sploot looking at the water, which was comedy gold.
While the day wasn’t perfect, I was in perfect company and overall had an amazing time. We look forward to going on another boat ride once The Others are a little bit older. Honestly, we don’t need a reason to go back to the Inner Harbor, just need a nice day from Mother Nature. 😉
Be on the lookout for a 6 month update post coming soon. I’ll share each puppies personality and answer the question I hear most often “are the puppies really like Bruce Wayne”. I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months holds for The Others. And, you can bet, we are gonna party hard for their 1st birthday party, which is already being planned. 🙂
